The Salary Brook Vineyard is a 10 acre vineyard nestled in the beautiful village of Ardleigh, just outside of Colchester in East Anglia. Ardleigh origins started in the pre-Roman period and the village is mentioned in the Doomsday Book.
The Estate began life as a Farm in 1842. The vineyard is situated on a gentle south facing slope on the world famous Kesgrave gravel plains, and the original Thames river bed. Parallel to the vineyard is a train line that acts as a warm air blower across the vineyard .
The Salary Brook winds itself through the Estate.
The vineyard was planted in 2015 with the vision to produce the best East Anglian Bacchus.
Since the initial start of the vineyard, Pinot Noir Précoce (Frühburgunder) and Gamay grapes have also been planted.
Phase 1 - August 2018
